Join Us for a Megan Green Campaign Kickoff Call and Saturday Canvass!

Recently, STL DSA chapter membership voted to endorse Alderwoman and DSA member Megan Green in her special-election run for BOA President. The elections take place on Tuesday, September 13, (primary) and Tuesday, November 8 (general).

To support her in this run, we’re encouraging members to volunteer and canvass on behalf of her campaign.

If you’re interested in helping, there are two events coming up this week:

  • Megan Green and STL DSA Campaign Kickoff Call this Wednesday, August 17, at 7 pm.
Find more info and RSVP here.
  • Canvass for Megan Green this Saturday, August 20, at 10:30 am.

We’ll see you there!

Local Starbucks Workers are Organizing!

Congrats to the Starbucks workers that have voted to unionize, including those at the Hampton and Dale store, which just voted to unionize last week!

As a reminder, STL DSA has made it a priority to support organizing Starbucks workers that file in our region! If you’re a Starbucks worker at a store that has filed, a worker in an unorganized workplace, a worker in another union looking to show solidarity or you’ve been watching the labor wave from a distance but haven’t yet gotten involved, please fill out this form here and join us!

Note: If you’re a Starbucks worker at a store that hasn’t yet filed or started organizing, we can connect you with the union!

  • The second meeting is All About Canva - two of our members will be presenting about this platform, how to use and best practices there. This will be on Thursday, August 25, at 6:30 pm. Find more info about this event and RSVP here.

We’ll see you there!

Upcoming Events:

Become an internal organizer!

At our recent annual local convention, St. Louis DSA made it a top priority to start an Internal Organizer program. Internal Organizers will be the active members who take the lead on reaching out regularly to our current and new members to welcome them into the chapter and help them find their role as active members of StL DSA. If you are interested in helping others get involved in DSA, making our chapter a welcoming and accessible organization, and in building a stronger organization that can fight for socialism, let us know by submitting the form at this link!
