BIGGEST STL DSA Meeting of the Year: RSVP Now for the Annual General Meeting!

Sept. 13, 2021

Our biggest meeting of the year - the Annual General Meeting, where we decide on local priorities and elect chapter officers - is coming up soon on Tuesday, September 28, at 7 pm. Make sure to RSVP now for the meeting, if you haven’t yet done so!

Join DSA in the Fight for a Green New Deal for Public Schools!

There are almost 100,000 public schools in the US, serving 9 out of 10 children. The federal government has neglected them, leaving it up to localities to fund through unequal property taxes. Working-class and poor Black, brown and white people can't afford to always be on the defense when it comes to privatization. We must fight FOR our public schools, good jobs and our kids' futures.

September is a critical month for the campaign as Congress decides on a new budget, and STL DSA has committed to join the fight for a Green New Deal for Public Schools campaign. You can help us in this fight! Here’s how:

  1. Join us this Saturday, September 18, for a Social and Postcard Zap at the Old Carriage Shelter in Tower Grove Park. RSVP for the event here.

  2. Don’t forget to sign our petition for a Green New Deal for Public Schools in the Greater St. Louis and Metro East areas!

  3. Sign up for a shift to help STL DSA and Kansas City DSA members phone bank for the PRO Act and a Green New Deal.

SocFem Working Group: Join Us as We Discuss How to Help Texas Comrades

This Thursday, September 16, the Socialist Feminist Working Group meets to discuss what’s going on in Texas, as well as how we can help our comrades there.

RSVP here to join us for this conversation and learn next steps.

STL DSA at Tower Grove Pride on Sept. 25: Sign Up for a Shift!

STL DSA is still looking for volunteers to help at Tower Grove Pride (in Tower Grove Park) on Saturday, September 25! Most shifts involve working the STL DSA table that day, but we also need members to help with setup and clean-up shifts, as well. We highly encourage members with trucks, vans or large-sized vehicles to sign up for one of those shifts, so you can help with moving some of the materials that day.

If you’d like to help with one of the shifts that day, please fill out the Pride Tabling form here (including the Sign-up Sheet linked in the form). If you’ve already put your name down on the Sign-up Sheet, then you just need to complete the form.

Note, we’ll also schedule a tabling training a few days before the event for all volunteers. This will help get us all comfortable with talking to people about DSA.
