RSVP Now! February Chapter Meeting Next Week
Next Tuesday, February 15, is the February Chapter Meeting. If you haven’t yet, make sure to RSVP for the meeting here.
We’ll discuss current priorities, as well as what has been going on with our caucuses and committees. We’ll also have a political education section during this meeting.
See you there, comrades!
Add Your Name: Petition to Demand Safer Conditions for Amazon Workers
STL DSA has signed on to Athena Coalition’s petition demanding Amazon give workers better safety on the job. The petition, also sponsored by Jobs with Justice, Missouri Workers Center and United for Respect, came out last week right before the Rally on Amazon, where workers demanded accountability and more workplace protections from Amazon.
It’s time to demand more for our workers, including those working at the Edwardsville Amazon plant.
Add your name to the petition here.
Thanks to Those Who Volunteered on Transit Equity Day
Thanks to those who joined the STL DSA Transit Caucus last Friday, Feb. 4, on Transit Equity Day, to table, speak with transit riders, distribute surveys and pass out hand warmers.
We’ll have more opportunities to volunteer soon!
If you’re interested in helping in the near future, please let us know ASAP via the form here.
Please note, you do NOT need to be a current Transit Caucus member to volunteer. In fact, members with vehicles are especially encouraged to sign up to help, even if they can only help to provide rides or lunch to other members that are volunteering (as many Transit Caucus members do not own vehicles).
Save the Date: Religious Socialism Caucus Meeting on February 17
Join the Religious Socialism Caucus for its first official meeting on Thursday, February 17, at 6 pm. During the meeting, we’ll elect our co-chairs, review the charter that was approved last year and set some meeting dates and times for the rest of the year.
As stated in our charter, membership of the caucus is open to members in good standing of STL DSA who identify as people of faith or as religious adherents.
RSVP for the meeting here.
Two Communications Committee Meetings this Month
The Communications Committee will hold two meetings in February — the regular monthly meeting on Thursday, February 17, and a separate Graphic/Design Skill Share meeting on Sunday, February 27.
Please RSVP here for our monthly meeting, especially if you’re interested in helping with social media, PR, photography, graphic design and writing/editing.
If you’re interested in learning more about graphic design, layout/pagination, public domain images and more, RSVP here for the skill share meeting.
