Update on DSA National Convention: Get Involved Now to Help with Next Steps!
Last week, we shared some of the exciting work and campaigns that came out of DSA’s 2021 National Convention (and now you can check out a more comprehensive list here), and as DSA members in St. Louis, we are ready to get to work. Our annual General Meeting, where we decide on local priorities and elect chapter officers, is coming up fast at the end of September! It’s never too early to start thinking about how you can get involved in the important and essential work of growing our movement, the largest socialist organization in the country.
Nominations are open until the end of this month to run for our 2021-22 Executive Committee, run for one of our two Comrades-at-Large positions, or to chair one of our Committees. Any current member in good standing can run for any of these positions, and if you aren’t a member (yet) — you can join! If you have questions about any of these roles, please reach out to the current Executive Committee at email@example.com.
Finally, folks within the chapter are beginning to figure out how to bring the resolutions passed at the national convention home to our work in St. Louis. There are already groups starting to look at several specific priorities, including Labor, Electoral, and the Green New Deal, and we are looking for more help! You can fill out this form, and we will connect you to some of the upcoming planning meetings that will take place before the September General Meeting.
